網路電視激戰 Sony搶第一、傳與Viacom簽約

消費電子產品大廠Sony先聲奪人，把對手谷歌、蘋果甩在腦後。據悉該公司率先和傳媒巨擘Viacom簽訂初步合約，將可透過網路播送Viacom旗下頻道，包括MTV、Nickelodeon兒童頻道等。

華爾街日報和紐約時報報導，消息人士透露Sony有望成為首家和媒體業者簽訂合約的科技大廠，用戶可透過遊戲主機PlayStation(見附圖)、手機、平板等，收看播出內容，預定明年初開播。據傳Sony也正接洽ESPN運動頻道母公司迪士尼(Walt Disney Co.)、HBO頻道母公司時代華納(Time Warner Inc.)等，希望豐富播送內容。

Sony和Viacom的協議意味著娛樂業的一大轉變，先前媒體商不願授權網路電視，擔心會損及和系統商、衛星電視商簽訂的高利潤協議。系統商如時代華納有線(Time Warner Cable)也先發制人，增擬條文讓媒體商不易授權給新進業者。

在此之前，蘋果早已積極布局網路電視，7月中據傳該公司正與頻道商召開會議，打算推出能跳過電視廣告的新服務，蘋果將另行付費補貼頻道商損失。13日更傳出蘋果收購了社交電視指南暨影片推薦程式開發商Matcha.tv，可為用戶提供完整的影片和電視節目選單；用戶也能管理節目選單取得影片介紹，同時還能連結到社交網路查看朋友正在觀賞或喜愛的內容，非常符合該公司打算在年底發表iTV的傳言。

谷歌也在7月23日發表了新款的「電視棒」Chromecast。這款產品大小有如隨身碟，插入電視機的HDMI輸入孔後，便可透過Wi-Fi連線，將把手機、平板電腦或個人電腦的網路串流影片轉到電視播放，每支只賣35美元。7月下旬網路開賣兩天後，亞馬遜(Amazon)及Best Buy網站等都表示Chromecast賣到缺貨。
