美國共和黨籍聯邦參議員馬侃（John McCain）和葛蘭姆（Lindsey Graham）今天發表聲明說，他們無法支持對敘利亞採取並非更大策略一環的孤立軍事攻擊行動。

聲明說：「我們無法問心無愧地支持並非整體策略一環的對敘利亞孤立軍事攻擊行動，此整體策略能改變戰場上情勢，達成歐巴馬總統陳述的目標，把（敘利亞總統）阿塞德趕下台，以及終結這場衝突，此衝突正日益威脅到我們的國家安全利益。」
